Poker Rules

Poker is the most popular casino card game in the world today. What started off as a single game where the basic poker rules involved one round of the game in which the players received five cards and then determined how many they wanted to replace from their hand. No more than three cards from a player's hand could be replaced, though, according to the poker rules. This common, original version is called five-card draw. This game has evolved into hundreds of different versions of poker games, each with their own distinct poker rules.

Due to television shows, tournaments, and online poker rooms, the game of poker has gained a lot of popularity recently. The most popular version of poker game today is Texas Hold'em. This game in itself has sparked the formation of many different, but similar, poker games with slight distinctions in the poker rules. While the games all have a basic theme in common, it is important to remember that there are different variations in the poker rules for all the games. The three main categories that poker games are grouped into are draw poker, stud poker and community poker. Of course, with the hundreds of versions, there are some that don't fit into these categories are just classified into a group of their own. Our website reviews a few of the top brand poker rooms such as, Empire Poker and Pacific Poker.
